Or It Could Be the Clothes

I came across this image today by chance. Same table and chairs as in the Patti Smith photo below, another cafe in Paris, another time. It’s 1925, over eighty years ago, before the second world war but after the first. Love the spirit of this one too. Must be something about coffee that makes for a good time. Drink up!

Nah, I think it’s Paris, where cafe society is still an indigenous artform. Wish I were there now, it’s been ages. We should meet up in Paris someday and have our picture taken sipping coffee, or a kir royale? Definitely a Gauloise.

KT—You’re right. It’s Paris although I was sipping the most amazing capuccino in Boston’s North End on Monday afternoon and it had a certain fabulousness but was indoors. But Paris—let’s do it! Do you remember when we did smoke the occasional Gauloise?

Coffee and camaraderie are a wonderful combination. Add a cafe and Paris–wow!

I love this photograph..the black and white, the clothing, the time period and the private moment these women are sharing.
