Phew.

Back again at the old Wordpress site and I’m going to stay put.  I thought I was doing something clever switching over to an iWeb site but I was in well over my head.  No need to go into it—I’m just so glad I could retrieve my old site.  Lesson learned—I am no tech wizard.

In fact there were a good number of lessons learned—

Tech issues can stress a girl out even after years of yoga!

Do not throw things out until you have the next thing working.

etc.  Too boring to continue….

BUT I did discover how much I love my wee blog.  It really is an awesome place to explore various endeavors and see everything in one place, and to communicate with others.  Now it almost feels like I’m starting over.  I was hoping that when I transferred the site I’d actually be able to put more things up in a coherent way but I’ll figure out how to attach a new site to the blog rather that transferring the blog.

Anyway, back again and here to stay.  And soooooooooooo grateful.

WElcome back! We missed you! Also, I’m going to put together a health challenge club of some sort that we can have some fun with on the internet–sound like fun? We can all write once a week on our own blog and have links to each other’s blogs to cheer each other on or something like that….

Hooray Hooray! I’m deeply relieved. What a wild goose chase you’ve been on with all this! Welcome back. Allan

  3. Cathy Says:

Thanks, Mary! I’m all for cheering each other on!!

And, thanks, Allan!! You have been very patient while I mucked about!! :)

So glad to have straightened this out!

So THAT’S where you were. I kept getting a weird error message. Welcome welcome welcome. and I will learn from you and not leap into iWeb before I look–not such an easy thing for me, who, when all else fails, reads the directions.

  5. Kelly Says:

well, I’m glad you found your way to an answer, I could hear how frustrating it was all becoming for you…and I feel your pain as I’m banging my head against the wall that is Dreamweaver while under deadline to get someone’s site up and running in another week. Next time you see me, I’ll have considerably less real estate on my forehead.

  6. Cathy Says:

Debra—Well, what an adventure! The iWeb site design is brilliant but the blog feature is too simplistic. Now I’m going to try to attach the actual website to this blog via a link…and get the best of both worlds. I want to be able to show various pieces of work in a way that can be easily added to and iWeb is great for that. Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for staying with me here!!

Kelly—Oh, I feel for you. It’s still early days with all of this and I just read somewhere that Wordpress is trying to make some of the design stuff easier. I spent one long morning searching around the themes when I thought all was lost and realized I was facing another uphill battle. Luckily they still had the old site on file. I was practically kissing them over the phone. They must have thought they had a lunatic on the other end because the week before I plagued them with calls to transfer my domain name to my iWeb site. Hope they have a sense of humor or a good pub nearby for after hours! Good luck with the Dreamweaver site!
