President Obama and A Studio for Change

Yesterday I got a great email.  It calls for replacing all the fear and hopelessness so many are feeling in our current unsettled state with positive action.  If you’re like me you’ve been wondering what more we can do to elect Barack Obama president.  Well, here’s what we can all do—we can use the power of intention and here’s how it works.  First envision what you want, say it out loud and feel the happy feeling.  Do this several times a day.  We need to remember that everything is energy, thoughts too and feelings for sure.  What we put our attention on grows.  If we think disaster and moan and weep, we will certainly have disaster.  We’re all shocked by what’s going on but now, of all times, we can’t let it derail us.  Now is the time to watch our thoughts and watch our conversations.  We can no longer afford the luxury of a negative thought.  Not one!  Truly.  We can’t afford to indulge in fear and hopelessness.  For one thing, it doesn’t work.  In fact, it creates exactly the thing we don’t want.

Here now is my daily practice—I say President Obama out loud three times a day and smile.  When anxious thoughts come up, I take note and let them go then say President Obama!  And when I see a friend I call out President Obama!

I just got another email from my friend Beth Greely, another artist for change.  She said she’s wearing an Obama button and everywhere she goes people say hi and together they say—We can do this!

Energy is contagious.  The very best thing we can do right now is create the happy feeling of victory in the full expectation that Barack Obama is our next president and will be the change we all want to see where ordinary people once again can enjoy a feeling of security and prosperity and even pride in this country.

My deepest desire now is to be an artist of change.  For me this is about communicating the ways we can create positive change through consciousness—by going to the positive to raise our own energy and that of others.  I want to help create an energy revolution.  And here’s some happy news—next week I’ll be moving into my new studio at the art center where I teach—The Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown, MA. I only found out last week that the lease on one of the studios had not been renewed and it was now mine.  I couldn’t be more thrilled and will post photos next week once I move in.  Not only will I be able to work on many more projects than I could in a home studio but I hope to be able to do more work for the center at the same time.  It’s growing in beautiful ways and just opened an art gallery on the first floor.  It’s a center for good energy!

Onwards, my friends!  President Obama!
